A series of letters published in the Public
Advertiser 1769-72, under the pseudonym
Junius. Written in a pungent, epigrammatic
style, they attacked the `king's friends' in
the interests of the opposition Whigs. They
are generally believed to be written by Sir
Philip Francis (1740-1818).
